Some places stay in your heart long after you've left them.

This photograph was taken in Barcelona during one of my first unforgettable journeys with the woman who would later become my wife. We spent our days wandering the city, drinking sangria in the warm evenings, enjoying rich espresso in quiet cafés, and discovering the incredible world of Antoni Gaudí for the very first time. Every street felt full of life, creativity, and possibility.

Then we came across this extraordinary building.

It wasn't a museum or a famous landmark. It was an occupied house—a squat—covered with murals, slogans, and artwork created by people who believed that art, freedom, and community could exist side by side. Having grown up surrounded by artists and alternative thinkers, I immediately felt connected to the place. It wasn't about the building itself. It was about the energy, the imagination, and the courage to express ideas through art.

Looking back today, I sometimes wonder whether the city has changed, or whether we simply remember our youth through kinder eyes.

Every generation has its own time. Ours was filled with curiosity, long walks, endless conversations, and the excitement of discovering the world together.

For me, this photograph is more than a view of Barcelona. It is a memory of first love, creative freedom, and a beautiful chapter of life that I will always carry with me.
