Embraced by the Last Snow
Embraced by the Last Snow
No matter how far life takes me, I always find my way back to Lithuania—the place where my story began.
This photograph was taken in the beautiful historic town of Kernavė, where I had the honour of being a witness to the love shared between two wonderful people. Their affection for one another, and for their loyal dog, filled the entire day with warmth, laughter, and the quiet happiness that only genuine companionship can bring.
It was an early spring evening, one of those rare moments when winter is reluctant to leave, yet nature is already beginning to awaken. Patches of snow still covered the ground, but the air carried the promise of warmer days. For the first time in months, it was comfortable enough to stay outside and watch the sun slowly disappear beyond the hills.
With a bottle of good wine passed between friends and conversations flowing as effortlessly as the evening light, time seemed to slow down.
Kernavė is home to five ancient hill forts, each offering its own breathtaking view across the valley. We climbed every one of them before choosing the perfect hill to watch the sunset together. Surrounded by history, embraced by the last snow of winter, and warmed by friendship, it became one of those evenings that quietly stays with you forever.
Sometimes, the most beautiful seasons are not summer or winter, but the brief moments in between—when the world is gently changing, and you are lucky enough to witness it with people who make every memory feel like home.
