Echoes of Us

"Echoes of Us" tells the story of two young people standing at the beginning of a journey, without knowing where life would eventually lead them.

In this photograph, one shoe is mine, the other belongs to the woman who would later become my wife. We weren't married yet, but without realising it, we were already writing the first pages of our story. No one knew how it would end, or where life would take us. We only knew that we wanted to walk forward together.

At the time, we were young immigrants building a new life in Ireland. On this particular day, we found ourselves by the sea, enjoying the sunshine, the fresh air, and the simple happiness of being together. There was nothing extraordinary about the moment, yet somehow it became unforgettable.

Looking back, I realise that life is rarely defined by grand occasions. It is shaped by quiet walks, shared conversations, the sound of the waves, and the countless ordinary moments that slowly become our most treasured memories.

This photograph is a gentle reminder to step outside, leave the screens behind for a while, and discover the world with the people you love. Travel, wander, laugh, breathe the fresh air—and don't be afraid to capture even the simplest moments.

Sometimes, a photograph of two pairs of shoes can tell a love story that words never could.
