Where We Once Were
Where We Once Were
"Where We Once Were" was inspired by the quiet beauty of the Lithuanian countryside, where time seems to slow down and nature is allowed to breathe.
Some of the most beautiful old homesteads are not beautiful because they are perfectly polished or decorated with modern materials. They are beautiful because they remain true to themselves. Weathered wood, old glass, steel, clay, moss, straw, and sun-dried hay all become part of their story. Nothing is perfect, yet everything belongs exactly where it is.
During the summer, life feels unhurried. People are relaxed, and no one worries if everything is perfectly tidy. There is a quiet charm in that gentle imperfection—a reminder that beauty often lives where life has been honestly lived.
When I saw this old window, it felt strangely familiar, as if I had known it before. It reminded me of childhood, of home, and of places that remain in our hearts long after we leave them. I knew I had to capture that feeling.
For me, this photograph is more than a window. It is a small piece of Lithuania, of nature, of memory, and of the comforting feeling of coming home.
